Antoinette Shar'ron Johnson

Antoinette Shar’ron Johnson was born in Newark, New Jersey, and raised in Somerset, New Jersey.  She has been a writer for 30 years. Antoinette has written and published hundreds of print and online articles for publication in newspapers, magazines, blogs, newsletters, and eNewsletters.  In January 2010, her first book, titled No More Hair Drama was released. Her second book, titled 12 Days: A Story of Faith, Hope, Healing, and Victory was released in August 2019.

 

Antoinette was the editor-in-chief, co-layout director, and staff writer for The Mount Zion Newsline, the official newspaper for Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, New Brunswick, NJ, from 2005 to 2008.  Currently, she is the editor for My Life Now magazine, a magazine published by the Rutgers School of Public Health, Community Living Education Project, and has served as an assistant editor for the First District Flame, a newspaper published by the First Episcopal District of the A.M.E. Church in Philadelphia, PA, which circulates 10,000 copies throughout the tri-state area.  Other positions she currently holds and has held for various publications include blogger, columnist, staff writer, contributing writer, layout director, content creator, and design artist.

 

In June 2010, Antoinette graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction, specializing in English and Language Arts. In 2005, she received a journalism certificate from Middlesex County College, and in 1991, she received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Montclair State University. She considers herself to be a lifelong learner.

For her work directly related to the editing, layout, design, and article writing for My Life Now magazine, the Community Living Education Project received Community Media Excellence Awards in May and November 2015 from The Arc/Morris and The Arc of New Jersey, respectively.  In June 2010, she was in the author’s spotlight on the Literary Wonders website for her book No More Hair Drama.

 

Some of Antoinette’s future writing projects include self-help books, drama, romance, and mystery novels for adults, women, and teens, books specifically for children, blogging, screenwriting, and freelance projects. Some of her hobbies include healthy eating, exercise, and reading. Antoinette was married for 33 years and her husband passed away in December 2022. She has an adult daughter and son and one grandson.
